Seminar in Culturally Sensitive Teaching

On 18 September 2016, Central Level Seminar was organized in Kathmandu to promote culturally sensitive learning environment for Tamang children.

The main purposes of the seminar are to publicise the newly formulated governmental plans, policies and programs, and discuss challenges towards effective implementation and the roles of state agencies and communities. It aims to discuss on the educational situation of tamang childern and the Challenges faced by them and way out. The seminar will also identify the advocacy points towards the overall goals of the project.

Mr. Tasi Lama,  Chair of  Childspace Foundation, welcomed and highlighted the program. He presented survey reported of the 10 schools where childspaced has been conducting the program. The report is attached here-with.

In this event, Chief Guest was Mr. Baburam Poudel  (Director General of Department of Education) and others were Dr.Dipendra Gurung – District Education Chief of Kavre,  Deputy Director of Department of Education and Chief of Multi-lingual Education – Mr. Narayan Subedi, Mr. Mohan Gole (Chair, Nepal Tamang Ghedung) and  Mr. Kumar Yonjan  –  Member of Interim Constitution Drafting Committee.

Chief Guest, Mr. Baburam Poudel(Director General), inagurated the program officially started with wishing  for successful discussion in the seminar and he committed that education department will consideration the conclusion and findings from the programs. He added that the  issue of Culturally Sensitive Learning Environment  in School is a vital agenda of “Education for All”
